Hope Valley Journal is a beautifully-designed quarterly
print magazine that celebrates the best of the Hope Valley. Not your
average ad-filled 'local magazine', the Journal is instead a thing to be
treasured, with over 100 pages of words, illustration and photography
from talented contributors who have been inspired by this wonderful
corner of Derbyshire.

We don't need to tell you that this beautiful corner of the Peak District is a very special place. The millions of people who visit every year are a bit of a clue. But for many of us lucky to live here, the sheer beauty of the place can often be relegated to a backdrop for our day-to-day lives.
The idea of the Hope Valley Journal is to allow us to stop for
a while and take in the wonders that surround us: the landscapes, the
wildlife, the plants, the people. To celebrate this wonderful place
through equally wonderful words and images. To learn more about the
surroundings we may have taken for granted. To see our home through the
eyes of those it has inspired for generations.

The magazine will cover the Hope Valley postal district, including Edale, Castleton, Hope, Bradwell, Brough, Bamford, Hathersage, Grindleford, Calver, Foolow, Eyam and Stoney Middleton.
This is not your normal local magazine – our plan is to make the Hope Valley Journal
a thing to be treasured. We won't be cramming the pages with
advertisements, but plan to primarily fund the limited print run of each
quarterly issue by selling subscriptions to those of you wanting to be
inspired over and over again by the wonderful Hope Valley. We will also
be working with a number of stockists in the valley where it will be
possible to buy the latest issue of the Hope Valley Journal.

Each quarterly issue of the Hope Valley Journal will feature
over 100 beautifully-designed pages of illustrated features, themed
around each season. The focus will be on celebrating local nature,
landscape, people and culture with high quality writing and vivid
photography and illustration. We will be inviting writers, artists and
photographers – both from the valley and further afield – to be inspired
by the valley and contribute their work to the magazine.

The first issue of the Journal will be the Spring 2019 edition, with an April publication date. The magazine will then be published quarterly, tying in with the seasons.
Let me know what you think and do you know any other businesses championing the Hope Valley?
